Benjamin Park, PhD
Benjamin Park serves as President and CEO of Enevate Technologies Corporation.
Dr. Park founded Enevate (originally Carbon Micro Battery) in 2005 and, as CTO, led the battery research, development, and engineering efforts. With close to 30 years of experience, he is an expert in surface and bulk chemistries, novel battery manufacturing techniques, battery materials screening and development, and battery chemistry. Ben has authored more than 45 book chapters, technical journals, talks and conference publications and has more than 200 patents issued.
He holds a doctorate in mechanical and aerospace engineering from the University of California, Irvine, a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University, and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Seoul National University in Korea. Dr. Park is also the recipient of several awards, including the Orange County Business Journal Innovator of the Year and the Estus H. and Vashti L. Magoon Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Peter Jovicic
Peter Jovicic serves as a Director of Enevate Technologies Corporation.
Peter Jovicic is General Counsel and VP, Operations at Quantum Valley Investments (QVI). Mr. Jovicic has been an instrumental member of the leadership team since joining the group in August 2016. In addition to overseeing the QVI investments, Mr. Jovicic works with several other technology start-up companies, supporting them in various capacities including strategic development, intellectual property, financial and legal matters.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Jovicic spent approximately 12 years working in private practice at major professional services firms in Toronto including Goodmans LLP, Deloitte LLP and Bennett Jones LLP. During this period, he also served as International Tax Counsel & Director at BlackBerry Limited from 2011-2014, where he regularly collaborated with and advised senior leadership across the organization, in Finance, Legal, Corporate Development and the Business Units, in connection with a broad range of business initiatives and corporate transactions.
Mr. Jovicic holds degrees in Bachelor of Commerce and a Juris Doctor (JD) from The University of Toronto. He was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2002.
Frederic Bonhomme, PhD
Frederic Bonhomme serves as Vice President of Engineering & Operations of Enevate Technologies Corporation.
Dr. Bonhomme is a global engineering and technology leader with more than 25 years of experience leading innovation, organizational growth, and industrialization of advanced lithium-ion technologies across North America, Europe, and Asia. He has led multidisciplinary teams, defined technology strategy, and translated R&D breakthroughs into scalable, reliable, high-value products for energy-storage applications.
Before joining Enevate Technologies Corporation, Dr. Bonhomme held senior engineering, operations, research, and development roles at Enevate Corporation, where he led development of silicon-dominant lithium-ion technology, overseas technology transfer of electrode and cell processes, and contributions to intellectual property and technical publications. Earlier in his career, he led lithium-ion cell R&D and applied research programs at Johnson Controls–Saft / Johnson Controls Power Solutions and Saft Research Department, working on NMC, NCA, LFP, automotive, industrial, aerospace, DOE/USABC, and ADEME programs.
Dr. Bonhomme holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry, a postgraduate DEA in Polymer Science, and a master’s degree in Physical Chemistry from the University of Bordeaux. He has authored or contributed to more than 50 publications and patents across lithium-ion electrochemistry, silicon anodes, fast charging, materials engineering, and manufacturing processes.
